How to Configure an AI Voice Agent for Your Small Business in 2 minutes (24/7 Phone & SMS-Ready)
We've created the only voice agent specifically for small businesses, with a setup time of less than 2 minutes, and is completely free to try.The voice agent is available 24/7, speaks just like a real person, and can do things like send demo/consultation links (more on that later). We'll also give you a custom phone number with your area code so setup is completely seamless. It's also perfect for screening out scam calls.
Step 1: Sign up and begin on-boarding
The first step is to sign up through our portal here.
You will immediately see our AI assistant excited to help you. Click "continue"
Then add your website and select "next". Adding your website allows the brain of the AI to find your company name for the voice assistant.
Then click "skip for now". This is just an option to also add the agent as a chat widget, which you can program later if you want.
To get to the voice customization, click on the "voice" tab
Next, you'll add your area code which will then give you a list of phone numbers. Select one and you'll be ready to go.
Once you've added your phone, you'll see the configuration section below. We'll go over all over your options in detail
How to configure your voice agent
Now for the interesting part.
We'll list all of the customization parts and what they do.
Assistant name: how the assistant refers to themselves during the call.
Company Name: name of the company
Business email: the purpose of having this email is to segway promotional callers to this email instead of booking a demo. Definitely fill this out.
Greeting: this is what the voice agent says at the start of the call.
Note: for goals, personality, and call flow, they all have pre-set values that you can just use if you don't feel like filling out these details.
Goals and system rules: give the agent specific goals, whether that be to generate more leads, be a helpful customer service associate, whatever you want.
Personality: give a short description of the tone and style of your voice agent. Shorter is better, and you don't need to be super specific about prosody.
Example: "you are a happy, cheerful, and bubbly assistant who is eager to help prospective customers."
That is usually enough because often more detail causes the agent to get confused about how it should talk, and ends up very monotone.
Call Flow: describe as a list of steps, how you want the agent to navigate the call. Usually a format like this is great:
1. Ask for their name
2. Ask if they are using the services for themselves or for promotions (helps screen out promotional calls)
3. Then ask what they're looking for
4. If they're using the services for themselves, then ask if they'd like a consultation (or whatever call to action)
